British Embassy in Bishkek

Embassy of UK in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Overview

Kyrgyz applicants for UK visas — Visit, Student, Skilled Worker, Family — submit through the designated UK Visa Application Centre, with biometric appointments commonly taken at the regional centre in Almaty (Kazakhstan) rather than locally; decisions issue from UK Visas and Immigration. The flow is small overall, with Visit and Student the main routes. The British Embassy at 21 Erkindik Boulevard, Office 404, in central Bishkek supports that visa work and provides consular services for British nationals in Kyrgyzstan — passport renewal, notarial work, emergency assistance — for what is mostly an adventure-travel community: trekking in the Tian Shan and Ala-Archa National Park, traditional yurt stays at Song-Köl and other high-pasture jailoo, the alpine lake of Issyk-Kul, the Karakol valley, and Silk Road heritage at the Burana Tower and along the Pamir Highway. The British resident community is small. In-person services by appointment via the FCDO website. Check the UK government travel advice for Kyrgyzstan before travelling.
