Embassy of Peru in Madrid

Embassy of Peru in Madrid, Spain

Overview

The Embassy of Peru in Spain is the cultural and political anchor of Peruvian diplomacy in Europe. Spain hosts one of the largest Peruvian communities in the world — established during the final quarter of the 20th century and consolidated by sustained migration flows — and the bilateral relationship covers cultural and educational cooperation, commerce, science and consular work. Major Spanish companies (Telefónica, BBVA, Santander, Mapfre, Iberdrola, Repsol) operate at scale in Peru. The Peruvian consular network in Spain includes Consulates-General in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Málaga, Valencia, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Salamanca and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Visa Services

The Embassy and the Consulates-General process visa applications for Spanish citizens travelling to Peru — tourism, business, investment and other categories. Detailed requirements are published on the Embassy's portal.

Consular Services

Consular services for Peruvian citizens — passports, DNI national IDs, civil registration, notarial services and emergencies — are handled by the Consulate-General of Peru in Madrid, located at Paseo del Pintor Rosales 30, in a separate facility from the Embassy itself.

Trade & Export Support

The Peruvian commercial office in Madrid (OCEX Madrid) and PromPerú work closely with the Embassy on the promotion of bilateral trade — Spain is one of Peru's main European partners — and on Spanish tourism to Peruvian destinations.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The Embassy supports the Peruvian cultural presence in Spain through the Instituto Cervantes-Peru, educational programmes, academic exchanges and the network of Peruvian-Spanish cultural organisations — particularly active in Peruvian cuisine, literature and visual arts.
